“I founded Aligned Energy to create an efficient utility model for the data center layer that allows companies to move at the speed of innovation.”
With over 25 years of experience building and operating data centers for large enterprises, Jakob (Jake) Carnemark has dedicated his career to tackling an issue that has long plagued the mission critical industry.
As Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer, he oversees Aligned Energy’s strategic technology platform focused on helping companies deliver greater business value with less costly energy and infrastructure resources. Jake founded Aligned Energy to solve the world’s toughest challenges associated with data center building infrastructure, energy consumption and water usage.
Prior to Aligned Energy, Jake worked for 11 years as the Senior Vice President of Skanska’s Mission Critical Center of Excellence where he was responsible for growing the international construction firm’s mission critical business. While at Skanska, he worked on large-scale complex projects, including building the first installation of Canadian-based TELUS’ smart, ultra-green modular data center that resulted in an 80% decrease in operational costs.
In 2013, Engineering News Record (ENR) recognized Jake as a Top Industry Innovator for his contributions to the identification of solutions that would transform the data center industry. Carnemark has a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Virginia.
